  While I suspected a longer dining experience, since you are preparing your own food, etc.... but 2 1/2hrs was a bit absurd considering the restaurant only had probably 4 other tables at the time. The person who seated us was apparently our wait staff as well. He was very nice, but not able to be as attentive as we needed. I had to get up a couple times from my seat to be seen as we were in a side room with 6 high back booths (you wouldn't even know we were in there). We were seated at 6pm and waited until 7:20 for our entrees, of uncooked food mind you.
  
  We have never been to Melting Pot and came for Restaurant Week which we usually find is a great way to try out a place for a great price. The server wanted to charge full "Restaurant Week" price for our kids ($33) when I was almost certain I had seen a kid's menu online prior to making a reservation. He said he would check with someone.. upon returned he agreed to skip the salad course with the kids and charge us $25 for each kid. I saw the kids menu at the host station when leaving, kids were $10.95.... so needless to say, we were not happy about being overcharged for our 2 kids.
  
  The food was just OK. The experience was fun, but I agree with another reviewer that $ could be better spend elsewhere for better food. The sauces/dips that came with the meal seemed like they just came out of a bottle.
  
  And the dessert, chocolate fondue, that we were all looking forward to, was a bit of a disappointment for us adults. While the kids loved it.... to me, it looked and tasted like Hershey's syrup. Unlike the first cheese fondue course, which was prepared in front of us, the chocolate was just delivered to us already melted, so we didn't get to see what went into making it.
  
  There is a lot of food, so come with an appetite.
